This is a super-middleweight rival bout for the WBA International super middleweight title scheduled for 12 rounds of boxing. The bout is the co-feature to the Anthony Joshua vs Dominic Breazeale event. Both fighters are kind of in the same position right now in terms of their sagging careers and need the big win.
Martin Murray is heading into this fight as the underdog against George Groves. Murray fought five times in 2015, staying very active. In his last fight against Cedric Spera he won by TKO in the second round. In November of last year he lost a close split decision against Arthur Abraham, scores: judges: Clark Sammartino 111-116, Rose M Lacend 112-115, Jerry Jakubco 115-112. Murray had been talking about wanting to retire after he was beaten by Abraham. Sometimes Martin Murray forgets to let his hands go in a fight. I think Murray has a great chance of beating Groves if he takes the fight to him. The way to beat Groves is to apply steady pressure but Murray has a passive fighting style and thats why I'm picking Groves to win by UD.
Groves is is really good six round fighter. He lacks energy as the fight gets into deep waters. If Murray presses him and throw a lot of punches he can win. However this will not be the case. Groves will do enough in the start of the fight to win points on the cards. Also Groves is coming into this fight with a lot of confidence. He is coming off two knock out wins against Andrea Di Luisa & David Brophy. He has a 69% knockout ratio which also gives him the edge in this fight. I don't thing he'll get the KO but he will pull off the W.
